The pandemic was looming over us on this day, but we were determined to make it the best birthday we could.
It began with birthday breakfast of french toast, deer sausage and (by request of the birthday boy). Birthday breakfast is a tradition in our family: what it means is that the birthday boy gets to pick anything they want for breakfast, and when they wake up, the table is decorated. I love mornings when we do this and we have no where to go, and we can just be at the table as long as we want.
Next on the agenda: a birthday scavenger hunt. I found this on Pinterest with a great printable: you hide cards all over the house and each one has a clue that will lead you to the next one.
The prize at the end of the scavenger hunt was a LOT of candy. And, the next thing we did was a dice game using the candy, called Keep Pass Eat. After that, we opened presents.
We knew we weren't going to be able to have friends and family over for Cooper's bday, but we wanted to go somewhere special! Justin called around to see if any of the driving ranges were open. We found the one in Tahitian Village was allowing customers, so we loaded up and went to the golf course for the evening. It was beautiful, and the boys enjoyed hitting some balls. We stopped and picked up BBQ for dinner on the way home, and after dinner it was time for singing and birthday cake.
....and just like that, our baby boy turned 11!
