A Lovely Day

Life has been busy to date.

We’ve finished another baseball season.

We’ve finished another school year.

We’ve been in high-gear and today, for the first time in a while, things are a little bit slower.
 

Yesterday I finished up in my classroom and today we are at home, saying hello to summer. And it’s been glorious.

The boys got to wake up at their own time. We ate breakfast together and it wasn’t rushed or forced. We spent time after breakfast in the Word, reading our devotional and thinking about what it means for our life. We had a little dance party and they showed me “the floss”.

Then we made our way outside and played. The boys practiced baseball and killed a scorpion. They rode their ripsticks (like a skateboard) and watched some butterflies. We admired the flowers Justin planted and our tomato plants.

This is childhood. It’s so beautiful that it hurts. The school year can be busy and at times stressful, but there are so many important lessons they get here at home, working and playing and learning together as a family.
