We are on Christmas time now. The boys had their Christmas parties at school on Thursday and then we got out of school at noon. What a busy few weeks!
Last Sunday Cooper sang with his class at a Christmas get-together in Smithville. He's been practicing for weeks and it was such a fun night.
Our first full day off from school was on Friday. The boys woke up and after breakfast, they sat around the kitchen table and made a Christmas chain. Watching them work at the cutting and gluing, each putting their own special touch on their chain...be still my heart., Then we wrapped them around our Christmas tree. At lunch time, Papa Sid came and we opened presents with him and Rick and Madalyn. Cooper received his first BB gun and pocket knife, Brayden a metal detector, and Lucas a real tool set. That afternoon was spent outside testing out all the new gifts.
Saturday we had Christmas with the Fohn family. We watched old home movies, played some fun games and had lots of food. Cousins played until they could play no more, and at last Lucas came to me and said "Can we go home now? I need to go to sleep."
Sunday after church, we spent the rest of the day at Mumu's. The wind was blisteringly cold, but Cooper and Brayden and Eli braved it to play football outside. Inside we had desserts and coffee and movies and games. Aunt Becky put on a big pot of taco soup and we all enjoyed a bowl together. Lovely.

Monday we woke up and had presents and kolaches at our house, and then headed to Houston for the day. We opened presents with our Moore family and soaked up time with baby Beckett.

What a joyous time it is, spending time with family and rejoicing in the birth of our Savior. The boys sang in the Christmas Program at church, and when I hear the words to "Jesus is Alive"...my heart just sings. I feel so blessed to have this faith, and to share it with our boys as they grow.
