Or really, there we went.
In Spring Break of 2016, Justin and I celebrated our 10th anniversary a little early...in California!
Thanks to sisters, grandmas and grandpas, we were able to hop on a plane to San Francisco and know our babies were in the best hands possible.
We left on a Saturday and spent several days in Angels Camp. It was about a two hour, scenic drive from SF. Our first day was dreary and rainy so we slept in (gasp!), laid around in our pj's until almost noon (gasp again!) and then spent a leisurely afternoon watching two movies (in the theater!!) and exploring Main Street, Angels Camp.
The next few days we visited a vineyard and made some historic stops...ever heard of Mark Twain's "The Jumping Frog of Calaveras County"? That's where we were...Calaveras County...and Angels Camp was all about the frogs. We saw the cabin where Mark Twain stayed when he heard the legends that turned into his version of the story.
One day we explored Big Trees National Park--hands down our favorite part of the trip. Our last day was spent in SF and then we were back in the arms of our three little boys.
It was time well spent, Mommy and Daddy celebrating our marriage and the union we made before God. We are grateful to Him for all he's blessed us with, and how patient He is with us through all of it. It is our wish now and for the coming years that our marriage will always glorify God--and that our children will see how important it is and was to us.
